These were sold to us as turquoise. At this price, most "turquoise" on the market is dyed magnesite or howlite, and we're checking ours before we call it that. Until we hear back, please assume the color is dyed. We'll update this page when we know more.

About Turquoise and Look-Alikes
Real turquoise is a copper mineral, and most of it sold today is stabilized with resin and often dyed. Look-alikes such as dyed howlite and dyed magnesite are common, and ours is most likely one of them.
Because every chip is shaped differently, no two pairs of earrings will ever look exactly alike.

Not exactly. Each pair has its own veining and chip shapes, so yours will look close to the photos but not identical.
Are the stones dyed or treated?
Probably, yes. The even sky-blue color is typical of dyed stone, and most turquoise sold today, even the real kind, is stabilized with resin or dyed. We haven't had ours tested, so please assume they are dyed.
Are the earrings lightweight?
